Policies are a key driver to accelerate change in the industry, especially when it comes to circularity and sustainability. The Policy Hub’s mission is to propose such an ambitious policy framework for the industry in Europe. As Public Affairs Manager you will support the diffusion of the Policy Hub´s positions and messages in Brussels. To achieve this, you will work with the European Institutions and civil society, in collaboration with Policy Hub partners (Sustainable Apparel Coalition, Textile Exchange, Global Fashion Agenda, FESI, and ZDHC Foundation).

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact and engage with various stakeholders in an international context. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English. Knowledge of other EU languages is a plus.
  • Strong established relevant network in Brussels to support the communication of Policy Hub´s positions.
  • Good knowledge of the legislative process.
  • Agility and hands-on mentality. Ability to stay on top of things in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interest and knowledge of sustainability and/or circularity topics.
  • Experience working with consumer goods (textiles, electronics, food, etc.)
  • Ideally 4-5 years of proven work experience

  • University degree in Political Sciences/Law/ Economics/Communications
  • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint & Excel) skills required

Tasks

  • Supporting the execution of the Policy Hub’s advocacy strategy, in collaboration with all partners of the Policy Hub (GFA, FESI, Textile Exchange, ZDHC Foundation, and SAC) and their respective members.
  • Growing relationships and collaboration with identified stakeholders active in the field of sustainability for the textile and footwear sector.
  • Further developing the Policy Hub’s advocacy strategies.
  • Representing the Policy Hub, and creating representation opportunities for the Policy Hub, towards all relevant persons and bodies of the EU ecosystem in Brussels.
  • Relaying relevant information from Brussels towards the Policy Hub.
  • Supporting research and analysis of (upcoming) legislation.
  • Attending key events and meetings
  • Supporting the education of relevant policy staff on textile value chains.
