The Policy Hub is hiring a Public Affairs Coordinator

Location: Amsterdam
Start date: expected July 2021
Duration: One year with possible extension
FTE: Full-time

Policies are a key driver to accelerate change in industry, especially when it comes to circularity and sustainability. The Policy Hub’s mission is to propose such an ambitious policy framework for the industry in Europe. As Public Affairs Coordinator you will support developing this policy framework that will enable change in the apparel and footwear sector. To achieve this, you will work with the companies, European institutions and civil society. The Public Affairs Coordinator will report the Policy Hub’s Public Affairs Manager.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact and engage with various stakeholders in an international context. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English. Knowledge of other EU languages is a plus.
  • Agility and hands-on mentality. Ability to stay on top of things in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interest and knowledge of sustainability and/or circularity topics.
  • Knowledge of the Textile and Footwear Sector (e.g.,NGO, retailer, brand, manufacturer, research perspective) is a plus.
  • Ideally 2 years of proven work experience.

Education & Skills

·     University degree in Political Sciences/ Communications/ Economics /Law  
·     Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint & Excel) skills required
·     Experience working with Webflow or WordPress is a plus

Tasks

  • Supporting external communications through updates of social media accounts & website.
  • Supporting the Policy Hub team and partners with running the daily business (e.g., contracts, events, invoices)
  • Supporting Policy Hub secretariat in its facilitation of the PolicyHub’s partnering organizations (SAC, GFA, FESI, Textile Exchange & ZDHC)and their member companies.
  • Coordinating meetings with project partners, member companies, stakeholders, and governments.
